The Mack Center recognizes prominent business leaders with the
distinction of "Senior Fellow" which involves them in our
conference and research activities, where their experience is of
special value. Our Senior Fellows currently include Ravi
Aron, Pradip Banerjee, Larry Huston, Warren Haug, V. Michael
Mavaddat, Scott Snyder, and Gita Surie.
Occasionally we host visiting scholars and executives who come
to Wharton to conduct research and share their experiences with
MBA classes and faculty. A good example is Mr. Myoung Woo
Lee, former chairman of Sony-Korea and a senior executive at
Samsung Electronics for many years, who shared his experiences
with faculty and students as Visiting Scholar in the Management
Department, and Senior Fellow in the Mack Center for
Technological Innovation. As a senior decision maker at two of
Asia's most successful and enduring companies, his insights were
highly insightful and educational. During his stay at Wharton,
Mr. Lee was a guest lecturer at Wharton classes and participated
in research projects. His lecture, "Strategic Channel Design and
Implementation" was of particular interest. Mr. Lee is a 1994
Wharton graduate. He spent 24 years at Samsung, working in the
Middle East, London, Frankfurt, Seoul, and subsequently served
as President & CEO of Sony Korea and non-executive chairman of
Coca-cola in Korea.
For several years,
the Mack Center hosted the Wharton-Infosys Business Transformation Awards at Wharton.
We provided research on nominees, worked with Infosys Technologies to refine the award process, and Wharton and Mack Center representatives attend WIBTA award ceremonies which are held in four world capitals, each year.
